Vadestedet
The area around the small river running through Aarhus is today one of the most popular areas in Århus. The area is full of cafés and restaurants and during the summer there is outdoor serving warmed up by gas heaters, when the weather is to cold. This area is one of the oldest in Aarhus. Christian I was the king who gave permission in 1477 to build houses along the small river. The name Vadestedet has been used for 1000 years and means the Ford, the place to wade.
